Celebrating Success, Partnership and Family at Swietelsky UK

23.12.2024

Swietelsky UK was proud to host a special locomotive naming ceremony at our Worksop Traincare & Traction Depot on 22 December 2025 - first and foremost, an event held to recognise and celebrate our new customer, Phillips 66.

As our first new customer of 2026, this occasion marked the beginning of a positive and collaborative working relationship, and we were delighted to welcome Phillips 66 to Swietelsky UK. The event reflected not only the start of this venture, but our shared commitment to working closely together and building long-term success.

One of the locomotives, 08653, was officially named “Lydia – Star of the Humber” by Lydia Coster, daughter of Lee and Vicki Coster, with Lee representing Phillips 66. This moment symbolised the importance we place on strong customer relationships and the people behind them - relationships built on trust, collaboration and mutual respect.

A second locomotive, 01530, was named “Dolly” by Liv Ryder, daughter of Daniel and Emma Ryder, adding a meaningful family element to the day and reinforcing that behind every operation are the people and families who support the industry.

The event brought together colleagues, customers and families to celebrate not just the naming of two locomotives, but the foundations of a partnership we are proud of and excited to grow. We look forward to many future successes together with Phillips 66.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special. Moments like these reflect what we stand for at Swietelsky UK - strong relationships, shared pride, and working together to #BuildingEverBetter.
